Americans don’t need much encouragement to drink margaritas. But they’re getting a few extra incentives on Friday, Feb. 22. It’s National Margarita Day.
Here is a taste of what’s out there:
Chili’s Grill & Bar: Chili’s is mixing three $5 Margaritas on Feb. 22, one for each of the primary colors, more or less. There’s the Cuervo Blue Margarita with Jose Cuervo Tradicional Silver Tequila and DeKuyper Blue Curaçao Liqueur; the yellow Tropical Sunrise Margarita, with Jose Cuervo Especial Tequila; and the red Blueberry Pineapple Margarita, with Sauza Hornitos Reposado Tequila and DeKuyper Melon Schnapps. Chili’s is also still serving its Grand Romance, a Valentine’s Day-themed beverage with Grand Marnier and Lunazul, for $5.chilis.com.
El Torito: Four margaritas include the Black Diamond Margarita, $14.99, made with Maestro Dobel Silver Tequila and Hennessy cognac; the Patrón Citrus Cadillac Margarita, $11.99, made with Patrón Silver, Patron Citronge and served with a side shot of Cointreau Noir; the Skinny Patrón Cadillac Margarita, $11.99, with Patrón Silver; and a Cadillac Margarita, $9.99, with 1800 Reposado and choice of Midori Melon, Pomegranate, Mango, or Blackberry. eltorito.com.
Miguel’s California Mexican Cantina:Miguel’s two restaurants in Corona are having free Azuñia Tequila tasting events 6-9 p.m. Feb. 22. They are at 2715 Lakeshore Drive and 1920 Frontage Road. miguelsrestaurant.com.
Tony Roma’s: The rib chain is serving classic “Romaritas” for $4 through Feb. 22. tonyromas.com.
Yard House: The chain’s new Magic Margarita, made with Don Julio Blanco Tequila, changes from blue to purple with a sidecar of citrus agave. Prices start at $12.95. yardhouse.com.
